DIY Anxiety Tools

The tools below can be used by students to regulate their emotions and manage their anxieties. Please teach the expectations around these tools before students use them. They should be used as "tools, not toys". Pre-teaching expectations can avoid unwanted negative behaviors.

Create a Squish Ball

Creating and using a Squish Ball can help students regulate their emotions. This tool can be used as a part of a Calm Corner kit or independent in the classroom.

Create a Nebula Calm Down Bottle

The Nebula Bottle is a great addition to any Calm Corner at home or in the classroom. Students can look at the stars and clouds while taking a deep breath. This can allow students the time and space to relax before talking about what is concerning them.
