Teaching Kindness

Why Teach Kindness?

Teaching kindness allows students to improve their sense of belonging and self worth. Acts of kindness can increase energy levels and increase the feeling of optimism.

Kindness Hearts

Use sticky notes are pre cut hearts to promote kindness in your classroom or around the school. You can do this a couple of ways.

Option 1:
Have students write down a kind activity that they engaged in throughout the month. Have them post it to the "Kindness Wall". This will promote kindness in the classroom and around the school. Set the goal of filling in the entire poster each month. Then take time to reflect on all the kind acts at the end of the month.

Option 2:
Have students write down kind acts that can be completed in the classroom and throughout the school. They can take the heart home to share with their family when the act is completed. This could spark conversations about kindness in the home and create class connections in the household.
